Why 99% of Traders Fail

Here is why 99% of all traders fail, either put in the work or rid yourself of the desire.

"It doesn't make sense to continue wanting something if you're not willing to do what it takes to get it. If you don't want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process, is to guarantee disappointment."

- James Clear

Many people come into trading thinking it’s some get rich scheme. The truth is that if it were so easy, everyone would do it. It wouldn’t make sense for anyone to have a normal job anymore.

There’s a reason why the statistic that 99% of all traders fail exists; it’s not an easy skill to develop.

Traders often realise this very early on. After blowing their first funded account a few months in, or worse, blowing live funds that they’ve saved up in a matter of days. Yet, they don’t bother to change.

They don’t realise that it takes years of repetition, consistency, data collection, journaling, mental torment (I figure that’s true for most of us) in order to reach any semblance of profitability.

They just want a get rick quick scheme, they don’t want to do the work, they only want the outcome. They were sold a lie by a guru driving a Lamborghini Urus and flexing their $500,000 Patek online that a single indicator would guarantee their success.

But that’s not how trading works, unfortunately that’s not how life works. If you’re going to crave the result, but are unwilling to put in the work, then rid yourself of the desire because it only guarantees disappointment.
